Boss Is In

Good Friday my friends! I thought I would add a bit of an addendum to last week’s blog about me being a ‘bitch boss.’

Yesterday I received this message from “The Universe” (a site that sends daily emails of encouragement -- https://www.tut.com ).

“Some of what frustrates us here the most, Melinda, are your regrets over the past, insecurities over downtime, and self-doubts over decisions to be made.

Please, the past was only a warm-up, your downtime allows us to set a new stage, and it's you we proudly call ‘the boss.’”

How true are these words! Often times a reaction in the now is rooted in a past regret, insecurity or self-doubt.

In thinking about the ‘bitch boss,’ pushing hard was not only rooted in loving the work, but a fear of failure. The result was zero downtime, which meant I couldn’t set the stage for the next steps.

Now I have time blocked on my calendar just to think, read, write, reflect and plan the next phase, as well as, time off to do things I love to do – paint, play with Violet and take long walks on the beach.

Yes, the boss is in, and she is learning to not be a bitch.

What can you do today to set a new stage for your boss (you)?
